Community Grants
Community Grants are central to the Community Foundations’ mission and endeavors. We understand that investing in the infrastructure of an organization enhances its ability to deliver its vital services. Grants are an annual opportunity to provide nonprofits in Dutchess, Putnam and Ulster County with unrestricted General Operating Support (GOS) funding to achieve their missions. GOS grants are flexible and allow funds to support an organization’s ongoing administrative and infrastructure costs and direct costs for programming, organizational development and capacity building.
Funds support a broad variety of organizations and programming, including; effective and innovative programs in the areas of human services, arts and culture, education and youth, health, the environment and civic affairs.
Funds are primarily raised at our annual Garden Party, which recognizes individuals who are instrumental in improving lives through their community philanthropy. Since 2000, this signature event has generated over $1.2 million for Community Grants.
