Ulster County
Community Foundation of Ulster County is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Ulster County through strategic philanthropy and community engagement.
We engage with local nonprofits, civic leaders, and residents to identify key issues and mobilize resources to develop effective solutions. Grants are made annually to Ulster County nonprofit organizations with missions that support education, food security, health services, environmental stewardship, and cultural enrichment. Funds for these Community Grants are raised through the generosity of individual donors, fund holders, and donations from the annual Garden Party.
By leveraging the collective power of our community, we aspire to build a brighter future for Ulster County—one that is inclusive, resilient, and full of opportunities for all. Join us in our mission to uplift and transform lives in Ulster County and together, let’s create a legacy of generosity and impact.

Donate to the Emergency Ulster Food Access Fund.
In response to the federal shutdown and cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Ulster County Executive, Jen Metzger, has collaborated with the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley to protect food access for vulnerable residents. As Ulster County directs $350,000 to large food pantries, CFHV’s Ulster Food Access Fund will provide additional support for community pantries across the county.
“We are thrilled to be able to increase our offerings for local youth to ensure we are not only serving young participants but also have young workshop leaders at the helm.”
