Research
The Community Foundations recommends a number of regional research and policy resources to help develop your programs and frame your grant applications:
- Voices of the Hudson Valley: What We Learned from You shares insights about priority issue areas from residents, nonprofit leaders and civic partners across Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam counties
- The Mid-Hudson Valley Community Profiles offers data indicators for awareness and action. With recent updates to key areas like population, living wage, and homelessness – it’s a dynamic free resource
- The Nonprofit Economic Impact Study from New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON) shows the economic power of the Hudson Valley’s charitable nonprofit sector
Board Development and Governance
If you are looking for board members, BoardStrong has created a board member matching website. Organizations can create a board posting and search available candidate profiles. Candidates can also search board openings and contact organizations from each posted opportunity. The site also offers courses to educate prospective and current board members about roles, responsibilities and best practices for effective board governance
Planned Giving and Endowment Support
We can assist you in opening a nonprofit agency fund and designing a planned giving program to tap into the philanthropy of your long-term donors. Contact our development experts about working with your board and staff to help grow your organization’s endowment.
