Planting the seed to expand our reach to support our giving areas from food security to education, health and wellbeing, arts and culture, and the environment. Where it Matters Most

We work with you to strengthen our community by helping individuals, businesses, and organizations establish and administer funds
that support vital causes and charities. Partnering with our generous donors, we address current and emerging community needs through
effective grantmaking to improve the quality of life for all.

WHAT OUR PARTNERS SAY ABOUT CFHV

People’s Place

For ten years, People’s Place has partnered with the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley (CFHV). This collaboration has been instrumental in our organization’s growth and ability to serve our community effectively.

Elyse Joy

Orville Todd Middle School science teacher Elyse Joy vividly remembers receiving a grant as a new teacher in the late 1990s. With just four microscopes for her classes of 28 students, she was eager to expand the lab equipment in her classroom.

Miles of Hope

Miles of Hope (MOH) began as a donor-advised fund at the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley (CFHV) in 2003, founded by Dana Effron and Cathy Varunok to raise funds exclusively for programs supporting people affected by breast cancer in the Hudson Valley.

Poughkeepsie Public Schools Foundation

Through CFHV, the Poughkeepsie Public Schools Foundation has been able to enhance its visibility and attract new donors, amplifying its efforts to support critical educational needs that are outside the scope of traditional funding.

Philipstown Behavioral Health Hub

At Philipstown Behavioral Health Hub, their transformative work relies heavily on their partnership with the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley (CFHV). CFHV’s support has been crucial in enhancing their ability to provide free care coordination services to the community.
