This webinar will explore how nonprofits can strengthen financial management practices and break down internal silos to better advance their mission. Participants will gain insights into the essential components of a strong finance department and learn how leadership and program staff can actively support sound financial policies, internal controls, and systems. The session will also examine collaborative approaches to budgeting and financial reporting, and outline actionable next steps for fostering organization-wide accountability, transparency, and efficiency.

Presenter

Throughout her career in the nonprofit sector, Roberta Katz has worked tirelessly with nonprofit organizations to build strong finance departments. After years in the for-profit sector, she pivoted to serving nonprofits and later founded Roberta Katz Consulting. She has held senior financial management roles at the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, JCCA (Jewish Child Care Association), Community Access, INCLUDEnyc, and Hispanic Counseling Center. Roberta believes that a strong finance department is the foundation upon which a nonprofit builds and carries out its mission to improve the lives of those in need.
