Community Foundations to Honor Briggs and Mackey at Annual Professional Advisors Breakfast

The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley will honor Meredith W. Briggs of Saugerties and Joshua Mackey of Poughkeepsie at its annual Professional Advisors Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.
 
The event is hosted by the Community Foundations’ Professional Advisors Council, chaired by trustee Ellen L. Baker, Esq. of McCabe & Mack LLP in Poughkeepsie. The program will be presented by Bernard Handel, CPA, Esq., and Robert Ryan, Jr.

Meredith W. Briggs, CFP is a co-owner and Lead Advisor with Taconic Advisors since 2016. A graduate of Duke University, Meredith lives in Saugerties, NY with her husband, Matt, and her energetic young twins. 

Meredith specializes in offering fee-only financial planning and investment management services, and is passionate about helping people take control of their finances so they can manage their money with confidence. She started her career as an advisor in 2005 and became a Certified Financial Planner in 2009.  Since then she has helped hundreds of families create and monitor comprehensive financial plans, tax projections and their corresponding investment strategies.
 
Joshua Mackey, Esq.  is a native of Poughkeepsie, and currently serves as Managing Partner at Mackey Butts & Wise LLP. His legal career began 18 years ago in New York City, and prior to the formation of Mackey Butts & Wise LLP, he was a partner with Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, LLP located in Poughkeepsie and Albany. Joshua has extensive experience in civil litigation, land use, zoning and insurance law, as well as residential and commercial real estate. As attorney for the Town of Fishkill Zoning Board of Appeals and Town of Poughkeepsie Planning and Zoning Boards, Joshua advised his clients on zoning applications and defending Article 78 proceedings. Joshua served as the Chairman of the Town of Washington Planning Board for many years. As a member of the Town of Washington Wetlands Committee he helped draft a wetlands protection ordinance for the Town. He was also a board member with the Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency and Abilities First, Inc.

In 2016 Joshua became a Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) after completing a program with the Litigation Management Institute of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance located in Chicago.
