Community Foundations to Honor Dennis and Tuchman at Annual Professional Advisors Breakfast

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley will honor Mark V. Dennis, CPA of Poughkeepsie and financial advisor Bruce H. Tuchman of Saugerties at its annual Professional Advisors Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2016, at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. The event is hosted by the Community Foundations’ Professional Advisors Council, chaired by trustee Ellen L. Baker, Esq. of McCabe & Mack LLP in Poughkeepsie.

 

Mark V. Dennis, CPA was born in Poughkeepsie, and raised in Fishkill, NY. After graduating John Jay High School, he received his Bachelor’s of Science in accounting from Rider College. After college, he began his career in New Jersey, at the firm of Withum, Smith and Brown. While in New Jersey, Mr. Dennis received his CPA certification. Returning to Dutchess County in 1980, he partnered with Raymond Duncan at Duncan and Dennis, until Mr. Duncan’s retirement in 1985. Since then, Mr. Dennis has continued to serve clients independently, and is an active member of the American Institute of CPA’s.
Mark and his wife Gisella reside in Hopewell Junction, where they raised three children. He currently serves on the board of Marist College, and served as a trustee of the Jeanette F. Schlobach Charitable Trust, which supported more than 80 nonprofit organizations in Dutchess County.

Bruce H. Tuchman has worked as a financial advisor for 32 years, beginning his career at Merrill Lynch. Through positions at Smith Barney/Citibank, Wells Fargo Advisors, and now back at Merrill Lynch, he has served generations of clients and families. Mr. Tuchman has also mentored many aspiring financial planners throughout the years. He holds licenses in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida.
 
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Bruce and his wife Michelle moved to Saugerties 32 years ago, where they raised their two children.  Equally committed to professional and civic excellence, Mr. Tuchman is active on numerous boards ranging from religious congregations, political organizations and community nonprofits. 
 
Professional advisors, including attorneys, accountants, financial advisors and insurance professionals, are essential partners with community foundations across the country, helping their clients fulfill their philanthropic goals to benefit the community, while solving complex estate and tax planning concerns.
