Community Foundation Grants Provide Fresh, Local Food for Hundreds of Families and Children in Need

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley has awarded $211,000 in grants to 13 local nonprofit agencies that offer fresh, local produce to hundreds of families in Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam counties.

The Hudson Valley Farm Fresh Food grants are part of a three-year initiative in partnership with the New World Foundation – Local Economies Project, and the support of an anonymous donor, said Jennifer Killian, director of programs.

“The Community Foundation is thankful to the New World Foundation – Local Economies Project and our donor for their support of this initiative,” Killian said. “This meaningful funding will enable area organizations to continue to effectively increase the amount of farm fresh food available to those most in need.”
