With a Donor Advised Fund at the Community Foundations, you can actively participate by recommending grants to nonprofit organizations – in our region, anywhere in the U.S., and even internationally. Our professional staff ensures that your recommended organizations meet IRS requirements. You can also choose to set up automatic donations to causes you recommend. You have online access to your fund, allowing you to recommend grants, add to your fund, and review your grant and giving history as well as investment performance. We will send you quarterly statements that summarize your fund’s activity. You can also name successor advisors, such as your children, to carry on your family’s legacy of giving. You can establish a fund that designates one or more public charities or the equivalent (such as a house of worship) to receive distributions in perpetuity.   A Designated Fund can be established with a contribution of $25,000 or more.

strengthen a community or specific area of interest?

You can establish a fund that directs grants for a specific purpose — such as aiding disadvantaged children, literacy, the performing arts, or your hometown.  A Field of Interest Fund can be established with a contribution of $25,000 or more.

Scholarship funds can benefit many types of students and educational institutions in our region and beyond.   A donor can establish a Foundations’ Selected Scholarship Fund for $250,000 or a Donor Involved Scholarship Fund for $500,000.
