2022 Garden Party Honorees

Each honoree brings special talents and gifts which have improved our communities and we are happy to recognize them. 

 

Portrait_Placeholder.pngArtavius "Tay" Fisher (Ulster): 

Born and raised in Kingston, Tay was drafted by the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters after college, retiring in 2019 to focus on his family. Over more than 18 years he has developed a range of programs to build basketball mechanics, as well as leadership, work ethic, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. He recently established Team Vibes, an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) traveling basketball team, to bring youth together from a range of communities between Kingston and the Capital Region.

Portrait_Placeholder.pngAnne and Fred Osborn (Putnam): 

Anne and Fred not only grew up in the Hudson Valley, but both descended from Jacobus Van Cortlandt, grandfather of John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States.  Together they have served on many boards and spent years supporting local nonprofits and causes close to their hearts, in particular protection of the environment.

Joan helped establish the Poughkeepsie Head Start program in 1965 and has continued community work throughout her life. Her most recent work included multi-year funding support through the Sherman Re-entry Fund at the Community Foundations to provide assistance to reentry efforts for the incarcerated.
