In 1969 a group of Poughkeepsie civic leaders shared a vision of “a foundation, organized and supported by community people, to reflect the distinctive needs of their community.” These leaders created what was then known as the Poughkeepsie Area Fund.
2019 marks 50 years since the founding of what is now the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley. We are proud stewards of your generous contributions and the legacy created by our founders.
